Ford Recall

Ford is issuing two major recalls for nearly 1.74 million vehicles in the U.S. due to dangerous rearview camera glitches.

The first recall covers nearly 850,000 Ford Broncos and Edges. Their infotainment systems can overheat and completely shut down the camera display.

A second recall impacts almost 890,000 Ford Escapes, Explorers, and Lincoln SUVs. These vehicles show a flipped or upside-down rearview image.

These camera failures reduce rear visibility and drastically increase the risk of a crash.

Ford confirms no reported injuries or accidents exist related to these malfunctions.

The automaker is offering a free software update for the Broncos and Edges. A fix for the other models remains under development.
